Yellowknife in Canada, late in December 2007-early in January 2008
Am I on the earth? That was unearthly view. I felt long distance between daily urban life such a commuters' hell and this time which passed with shaking Aurora. Some times a snow grouse quacked suddenly in silence. Temperature was around -30C degrees.
I took the following pictures of Aurora by digital camera which was fixed on tripod. opened the irises and shutter-speed were 15".

Yellowknife is over than 60north latitude. It was around noon, however the sun was low.

AIZU-WAKAMATU City in September 2007
I 'm interested in pilgrimage for historic spot of "SHINSEN-GUMI"samuraiI-soldiers. There is many relation between AIZU-WAKAMATSU City and SHINSEN-GUMI. 150years ago, KATAMORI MATSUDAIRA who was lord of AIZU domain was the head of police sides with the Tokugawa shogunate in Kyoto. SHINSEN-GUMI worked under him as samurai-soldiers in Kyoto. Kyoto was in a state of anarchy by the fight beween Tokugawa shogunate sides and new government sides. That was expanded to BOSHIN-WAR(1868-1869) in whole Japan. Many samurai of both sides died in this war, SHINSEN-GUMI too. Finaly new government sides won.
"BIYAKKO-TAI"19 samurai-soldier's graves
I was moved by sad AIZU-samurai soul. When new government sides attacked AIZU-castle in BOSHIN-WAR, AIZU-castle was enveloped in smoke. The castle didn't yet fall, but BIYAKKO-TAI which watched that smoke from far side mistook about that. Unfortunately they were sure that Aizu Castle fell. They performed hara-kiri (Killed theirself) for their lord, then they were teen-ager....

KATAMORI MATSUDAIRA's grave
He survived through BOSHIN-WAR, He took post the chief priest of NIKKO-TOSHOGU shrine(1880).

ISAMI KONDO's grave
ISAMI KONDO was leader of "SHINSEN-GUMI"samuraiI-soldiers. He was executed as a BOSHIN-WAR crimainal by new government sides in Nagareyama near Tokyo(Edo) . He was beheaded, that was humiliating death as a samurai. He couldn't performe hara-kiri that was honor as a samurai. After war, KATAMORI MATSUDAIRA bilded his grave, because ISAMI was special vassal for KATAMORI in the period of Kyoto.

The Kingdom of Nepal, late in March 2007-early in April 2007
Nepal has had the conflict between Kingdom and Maoism for 10years more. I saw the UN forces in an airport and the streets. I thought that Nepal was in serious problem. However cows, monkeys, dogs, people, cars and motorbike, everybody looks like freedom and peaceful not enough order.....
